About the Douglas Design District

The Douglas Design District has over 100 locally owned business members, including over 40 home and design businesses featuring antiques, furniture, home accessories, paint, flooring, kitchen design, granite, graphic design, web design and more. Over a dozen great places to eat, drink and be merry, including some of the best local breweries in Wichita. You can satisfy your need for sweets at our bakeries, donut shop, and candy stores. The Douglas Design District is a complete, wonderfully diverse community of business, retail and residential neighborhoods including the popular and historic College Hill - and we plan to make it better with the East Douglas Improvement Plan.

Mission:

The Douglas Design District will continue to revitalize the East Douglas community, creating a feeling of vitality, commerce, and pride for area residents and businesses. We will pursue and promote this ‘corridor of creativity’ as a rewarding place to live, work, invest, and shop local.

Vision:

The District will be a designation location for the unique, local, Wichita experience to shop, live, dine… by design.

In early January of 2007 the Douglas Design District was just an idea.  Today it's a fast growing association of over a hundred caring and LOCAL businesses between Washington and Glendale. The Douglas Design District website is now online and we hope you enjoy what you find here.
